Sri Lankan Airlines has made arrangements to introduce a local meal to Sri Lankan passengers. The company stated that they have planned to serve a typical nutritious Sri Lankan meal in flight. This local airline meal is expected to be gradually introduced to Sri Lankan Airlines in the future.

The meal was introduced last Friday (25) at the Serendib Hall, Katunayake Airport. Hon. Minister of Tourism, Prasanna Ranathunga was the Chief Guest.

The Minister stated that a tourist arriving in Sri Lanka gets the first experience of Sri Lanka on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight.  He further explained that it will be a timely plan to give them the experience of a Sri Lankan traditional meal.

Hettiarachchi, Secretary to the State Ministry of Aviation and Investment Zones Development, Mr. Janaka Sri Chandragupta, Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines, Mr. Ashok Pathirage, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Upul Dharmadasa, Vice-Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Ltd,Mr. Rajeev Sooriyaarachchi were also present on the occasion.
